Visitors

The Visitors module is a live map and list of the people on your site at this moment. Visitors are not database records: the screen opens a real-time subscription and the list lives only while the page is open. When a session ends its data is gone.

By default Owners, Admins and Managers. Owners and Admins can open the module to Agents, or hide it from Managers, in Settings → Modules → Visitors → Who can see. The module can be switched off entirely.

Current page and referrer, country and city from the IP address, device and browser, time on site, pages viewed, active or idle (30 seconds without a click, scroll or key press), and identity: anonymous (visitor618845) or the contact’s name if the site called identify() or the visitor wrote before. Filters: site, country, page, status, identified only. A stats row shows visitors now, today, average session and chats started.

Message opens a proactive conversation from the agent’s side, assigned to that agent and linked to the contact if known. If the visitor already has an open chat you are offered to jump to it instead. The visitor sees the message in the widget; when they answer, an anonymous visitor becomes a lead.

Automatic messages based on behaviour (time on page, scroll depth, exit intent, a pricing page visit) are not part of this module: they are trigger messages in Marketing.

When your site calls window.rolchat.identify({ email, first_name, last_name, external_id }), RolChat looks the e-mail up in the CRM and links the session to the contact; the row switches from the visitor ID to the real name and the Profile button opens the CRM card. Unknown e-mails are kept for matching later.

An agent can see the visitor’s screen and, with a second consent, control it. The visitor is asked explicitly, sees a persistent indicator, and can stop at any time; passwords and fields marked private are masked. Cobrowse can be started from this module (Manager and above) or from an active conversation by its assignee. Every cobrowse session is written to the audit log. Cobrowse is web-only: mobile SDKs do not support it.

Visitor tracking respects consent: where a banner is required, no page-view or behaviour event is recorded until the visitor accepts analytics. Sessions time out after 5 minutes without a heartbeat. Visitor data is never exported from this module.
