OpenAI adapter

An AI adapter on your own OpenAI key. Capabilities: chat, embeddings, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, vision and the realtime voice agent.

Setup

Section titled “Setup”
  1. Create an API key in the OpenAI dashboard.
  2. Settings → AI routing → Provider catalogue → OpenAI → Connect, paste the key. RolChat validates it with a minimal call.
  3. Pick a model per capability. Recommended defaults are pre-selected; the model list is refreshed weekly.
  4. Optionally set a monthly budget in Settings → AI routing → Usage.

Notes

Section titled “Notes”
  • Requested scopes: ai.chat:read, ai.chat:write, ai.embed:read.
  • The connect screen shows an estimated monthly cost from your current conversation volume.
  • If OpenAI refuses calls for billing reasons, RolChat reports ai_vendor_out_of_funds rather than a generic error.
