Plugins

Every connection to an outside system is a plugin. That keeps the core small and means a plugin you write has exactly the same powers as one RolChat ships.

Kind Purpose Examples
Integration Enrich contact and company cards with data from your system, sync records both ways, react to RolChat events HubSpot, Salesforce, Zapier, Segment, Shifton, custom
Provider adapter Connect a telephony or messaging provider and translate its format into RolChat events Twilio, Telnyx, Bandwidth and the rest of the phone marketplace; SendGrid for e-mail
AI adapter Connect an AI vendor on your own key OpenAI, Anthropic and the other seven in the catalogue

Settings → Plugins shows connected plugins, the catalogue, the event log and your RolChat API keys. Owners and Admins connect, configure, pause and remove plugins and rotate secrets; everyone sees plugin data on the cards it enriches.

Connecting a plugin asks for the scopes it needs (for example contacts:read, contacts:write, deals:write), shows the estimated monthly cost for AI adapters, and issues a webhook secret once. Each plugin has a settings page with its configuration, a Run sync now button, the sync schedule (a cron expression and time zone; manual runs are limited to one per five minutes) and a webhook log with deliveries, retries and dead letters.

  • Receive events from RolChat at its HTTPS endpoint, signed as described in Webhooks: conversations, messages, contacts, tickets, meetings and more.
  • Send events into RolChat: update a contact’s or company’s plugin data, create contacts, tell RolChat an agent is unavailable so bookings are reassigned.
  • Enrich cards: data a plugin sends appears read-only in a labelled section on the contact and company card and is available to automation conditions.
  • Call the API with an API key scoped to what it needs.

The protocol, endpoints and manifest are on Build a plugin.
